Established in 2001, the Dot NAME generic domain name extension is the only one intended for personal websites only. These domains can include personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other labels people are known by. Initially, only 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you wanted to order john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already acquired third-level domain names remained online.

Through our firm, you can secure your dot NAME domain for a time interval between one and ten years. You will be able to edit the WHOIS contact info, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an existing domain to our firm if you get its EPP transfer authorization code from the current registrar firm and we will renew it once the transfer has been completed. There are no particular restrictions on who can grab a dot NAME domain name, but in order to preserve the goal behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.
